Synopsis
What happens when your lover’s past and present collide, and all that’s left is an empty plane seat?
Seat 11C on Drew Tolbert’s flight to Chicago was supposed to contain her new fiancée, Kate Mulligan. Instead, the engagement ring is still burning a hole in Drew’s pocket, the couple is unexpectedly separated on the plane, and a total stranger is in seat 11C when they land.
How does someone disappear from a plane? After a frantic search, Drew turns up nothing but more questions. As the hunt deepens, Drew starts unraveling some of the strange happenings from their trip, and she’s forced to wonder whether she really knew Kate at all.
About the Author
Rita Potter is an award-winning and bestselling author of lesbian fiction who has spent most of her life trying to figure out what makes people tick—and what they do when life backs them into a corner.
Drawing on her background in social work, Rita writes layered and flawed characters facing circumstances that test who they are, what they believe, and who they’re willing to fight for. Her stories move across many genres, but they all share the same backbone: complex women, hard choices, sharp dialogue, emotional honesty, humor through adversity, and hope that refuses to die.
Rita’s writing philosophy is inspired by the quote, “The writer’s job is to get their main character up a tree, and then throw rocks at them.” The quote resonated so deeply that she named her LLC Up a Tree Media, which is both a warning to her characters or a promise to her readers.
Rita lives in a small town in Illinois with her wife, Terra, and their very spoiled cat, who is certain he should have been mentioned first.
