Joliet Pride Network is proud to help sponsor Naper Pride’s Transgender Day of Remembrance observance today. This event memorializes those of the transgender community who have been murdered as a result of transphobia as well as those who sadly took their own lives over the past year.

The beautiful event was highlighted by powerful speeches, including those delivered by Naper Pride’s Eva Genevieve Scarborough and featured speaker Colonel Bree Fram. They offered inspiration and encouragement to seek hope amidst the challenging climate of the present time. They also inspired us to keep fighting for what is just and right because “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice”. -MLK
