International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia

May 17

The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) is a global observance on May 17th to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ rights violations and promote LGBTQ+ inclusion, commemorating the day in 1990 when the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from its list of mental disorders. It’s a day for collective action, celebrating diversity, and calling for equality, with events highlighting discrimination, hate crimes, and advocating for dignity, safety, and recognition for all sexual and gender minorities worldwide.
